What to check when buying second hand washing machines

Ask for the model and age, and check there is no leaking, rusting or mould in the door seal.
Ask to see a wash running, or at least that the drum spins and the machine drains.
Check the hoses are included and that the machine fits your space.

Is it worth buying a used washing machine?

Yes, if it is a few years old and has been tested. Avoid machines with leaks or heavy rust.

Do used machines come with a warranty?

Private sellers do not normally give one. Traders must follow consumer law and should say what cover they offer.
