What to check when buying second hand kitchens and kitchen units

  • Measure carefully and bring a plan. Used kitchens rarely match a new layout exactly.
  • Check that doors, hinges and drawer runners are in good condition and that all parts are included.
  • Ask for photos of every unit and agree who dismantles and transports the kitchen.

Common questions

Can I buy a whole second hand kitchen?

Yes. Sellers often list complete kitchens when renovating, usually including worktops and sometimes appliances.

Who removes the kitchen?

Usually the buyer. Agree this up front and bring tools and help.
